Nick Bruel, author and illustrator of New York Times bestseller Boing, Bad Kitty, Bad Kitty Gets a Bath and Bad Kitty Meets the Baby, among others will be the guest at all the Duneland Elementary Schools the week of Oct. 10-13.
Bruel received the Young Hoosier Student Choice award and was featured at the Indiana Library Federation 2010 fall conference. Duneland Media Specialists saw Bruel's presentation and asked if he would come to Duneland to present to our students.
Bruel will visit each of the schools beginning Monday. October 10 at Bailly and Liberty Elementary. Tuesday, October 11 at Jackson. Wednesday, October 13 at Brummitt and Chesterton Middle School. At the elementaries, Bruel will talk with students about his books and the writing and illustrating process. At the middle school, he will be working with some classes in the afternoon on writing and drawings.
Nick is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist, and during his down time, he collects PEZ dispensers and grows tomatoes in the backyard. He lives in Tarrytown, NY with his wife Carina and their lovely cat Esmerelda.
