Walk Two Moons: Letters from a "Lunatic"

Each letter left on Phoebe's doorstep had a message that turned out to be quite meaningful to someone in the story.

Write a summary of a message or two that was the most meaningful to you.

  • Be sure to include the message in your description.
  • Tell what you think the message means.
  • Explain why you think it is a meaningful message.
* Do a separate comment for each post you make.

Messages

  1. Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins.
  2. Everyone has his own agenda.
  3. In the Course of a lifetime, what does it matter?
  4. You can't keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair.
  5. We never know the worth of water until the well is dry.

Ben's Dream

In class we read Ben's Dream, a story about a boy who wants to play baseball with his friend, but has the fun rained out. He goes home to study for his geography test, but quickly falls asleep. In his dream, Ben visits all the places he is studying. We see the pictures, but there are no words.

I WANT WORDS!

Your job is to write words for each of the pages in the middle of the book.

There is a page titled BEN'S DREAM on my website. Click on it and you can see each of the pages of the book to help you write a sentence or two for each page. I also have information about each place if you want to learn more about them. Furthermore, you can click on the google map link on each page to see more pictures or even be taken down to street view to see what it would really look like there.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT:

On this page you need to write add a comment for Ben's Dream. You will only write one comment, but in that comment you will write the place he visits in all capital letters, then write a caption that works with it for the book. HAS TO MATCH THE PICTURE! Write all of your sentences on a piece of paper first, then type them into the blog all at one time later. Be creative with your writing. Just saying, "Then he saw the Eiffel Tower", is boring.

Press submit and you are done. You can check back later to see what your classmates came up with.
